Is everyone okay now? I don't really go outside much, so I can't be sure of exactly what happened, but I hope the monster that was attacking everyone was defeated.

Um, besides that though... I was wondering if anyone here has ever written a novel before? If you did, what kind of advice would you give to someone who also wanted to write a novel? On that note actually, if anyone has the time to, please tell me anything you know about novels and stories and the like. I'd really like to know.

Pokemon battles? That sounds really interesting! I wish I could read them.

Well, it's not the same as reading it, but I can tell you about those novels-- and perhaps about some of my own Pokemon battles, if you'd like. [Now that she thought about it, Cynthia had never really told Chihiro what she did for a living, back home.]

Let's see... How about I start with my very first Pokemon battle?

Sure!

Well, my first battle happened many years ago, when I wasn't even old enough to be a licensed Pokemon trainer, and Garchomp was only a Gible-- so technically it wasn't an official match, but I do think it counts!

When Garchomp was a Gible...?

Ah, that's right! In my world, most Pokemon evolve and change forms as they grow stronger. Garchomp is a final stage, preceded by Gible as the basic form and then Gabite.

So it's like growing up?

A little bit, yes. Though growing up is a more gradual process, whereas Pokemon evolution brings about drastic change in the blink of an eye.

It sounds very exciting! Are your Pokemon all done evolving then?

All the ones that can evolve, yes. Spiritomb is a single-stage Pokemon, at least as far as we know.

I see... [Kind of wanted to see a Pokemon evolve. Oh well.]

Oh, I didn't mean to! I just thought it would be interesting to see...

Ah, I must still have some footage on my pokedex! Would you like to see that?

I won't take long. [And off she goes, riding on Garchomp!]

[And once they get back, Chihiro will be opening the door with a big smile on her face.]

Welcome home!

Thank you, it's good to be home! [Said with a smile as she pats Chihiro's head, then turning to Garchomp to do the same.] That was a good practice session, wasn't it, Garchomp?

[The Pokemon gives a content growl in return, hopefully in a way that won't scare poor Chihiro off.]

[Good job, Garchomp! She smiles back in response instead of getting scared.]

I hope you two had fun.

[And in return, Garchomp hunches over so to nuzzle the girl with her snout, careful so her teeth wouldn't anywhere within sight.]

We surely did! But now is the time for a different kind of fun, right?
